In October 2023 the U9’s had the opportunity to be team of the week for Manchester City’s game against Bristol City in the Women’s Super League.

The day saw the girls be taken behind the scenes of the stadium, given special wristbands and walked through exactly what they would be doing.

The girls then had the opportunity to join all the fun in the stadiums fan zone, testing the football skills and taking pictures in a Photo Booth. The girls were then led to an exclusive spot pitch side to watch the players warm up.

When the moment came the girls were led on to the pitch to have their name announced and to get that all important picture with the starting lineup.

After the game the girls had the amazing opportunity to meet 4 of the city players and get their autographs. Players included City captain Alex Greenwood, Australia’s Mary Fowler and Sweden’s Filippa Angeldahl. The final player the girls met was Lionesses Esme Morgan who complemented the girls on their fantastic manners and wished them luck on their football journeys.

As a final surprise Esme was so kind as to gift us 3 pairs of her signed boots which will be raffled off at the end of season presentation and all proceeds will go directly back into the club, and the girls development.

Community is not just about us, its about supporting those around you.

In August 2023 the U9s team and friends held a Lemonade stand on Buckshaw Village raising money for the club and Derian House.

They raised £167.55 in total, and didn’t stop all day! Well done girls, and massive thanks to all those who came down to support😉
